Responsibilities
Hexagon’s Novatel Positioning Division is looking for a tech-savvy and personable Field Application Engineer to help us drive our business forward by supporting some of the biggest names in the industry. In this exciting hands-on position, you will utilize your GNSS+INS expertise to ensure our customers’ success. Through the support of our Sales and Business Development teams, you will help to increase awareness of Hexagon’s revolutionary technologies, consult on positioning applications and provide field and professional services to our worldwide customer base.
While part of the APAC Customer Support team, this position will have a strong focus on supporting customers in Asia and will work closely with other regional teams in Calgary, Canada and Aberdeen, United Kingdom. The Teams collaborate closely with Customers, Sales, Product Management, Dealers and Marketing to help ensure the cohesive and comprehensive delivery of products and services. Our customers rely on our industry leading precision GNSS and INS technology when building their own solutions. The team also works closely with internal engineering teams, ensures escalated issues are resolved in a timely manner while continuing to be the customer liaison and maintaining the customer interface.
As our Field Applications Engineer, you will be responsible for:
• Providing front line product and application support on Hexagon’s Novatel Positioning Hardware, Software, and related GNSS & INS topics to internal and external customers
• Providing customer training, demonstrations, technical assistance, and technical sales support
• Collaborate with other departments regarding technical matters
• Formulating and implementing procedures and plans for resolving problems
• Working closely with Sales / Business Development in accordance with the market needs and agreed priorities
• Formulating and implementing procedures and plans for resolving problems
• Performing software testing, verification, bug reports, and field trial coordination
• Reviewing technical documentation materials and manuals
• Contributing to application notes for frequently asked questions and our knowledge base
Education / Qualifications
• University/college degree in a Geomatics, Electrical Engineering or related field
• 3+ years of related industry experience in GNSS and/or INS systems installation and troubleshooting.
• Proven problem-solving skills
• Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to get on with others
• English fluency with excellent verbal and written skills
• Ability and willingness to travel internationally to customer sites or collaborate with the larger Customer Support team
